Important characters:
1) Friedrich (DUH)
2) Herr Schneider
3) Herr Resch
4) Narrator
5) Hitler (he was the one who caused the happenings in WWII right?)
The story was written not from Friedrich's point of view but from the narrator's (a German) poin of view, even though Friedrich is still the most important character. His name is the name of the book itself and he is in almost every single part of the story.
